This tour includes the main external sights of St Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace, Bridge of Sighs, the Bell Tower, the Basilica(inside), la Fenice Opera House, Campo San Benedeto, Bovolo spiral staircase, Gran Canal and Rialto bridge. This walk is an absolute must for the first time visitor. Learn how Venice lost out on the trade routes when the new world was discovered, leaving this unique city medieval forever. Away from the main square, enter the labyrinth of narrow alleyways and encounter La Fenice Opera house, then a concealed square by Fortuny Palace and a spectacular view of the Gran Canal, the venetian folly of "Bovolo staircase" and Rialto bridge.

On Sunday morning and during special celebrations visits to the Basilica of St.Mark are not allowed. On Easter Thursday, the Basilica will be closed until 14:00 hrs for holy celebrations. Appropriate dress should be worn in places of worship. No rucksacks or large bags allowed in the Basilica.
