17-23 Aug: The Gypaetus: Trek the "Gipaetus" from Cogne to Rhemes, an "easy" trail with a multitude of interesting natural sites and scenes.  Since 1990 the "Gypaetus Barbatus" has been recognized as one of the most compelling and interesting areas within the Park, thanks largely to the ongoing conservation and restoration efforts of the UICN project of the European Union. Trekkers will discover the incredible richness and variety of the flora and fauna in Grand Paradiso.

24- 30 July: The Ring: This is a more difficult trek for experienced trekkers that involves some climbing as well.  But, for nature lovers it is a fantastic way to discover and experience the  immense and unique natural powers of Grand Paradiso. Trekkers, accompanied both by a trekking guide and a climbing guide, will feel the great pleasure and satisfaction that comes to all who trek The Ring.

• Tour groups: Min 4 people - Max 12 people

• Cost: 790 E/person

Included:

• Breakfast and dinner

• Accommodation at valley inns, farm houses hotels or mountain lodges

Booking:

• Before August 1

• Prices for larger groups booked well in advance can be negotiated.

Transfers:

• If you are arriving at a city or town close to the Grand Paradiso National Park and need transportation to the place where we start our treks, please ask for information about Transfers.  Some fees may apply.

Getting ready to trek the Grand Paradiso National Park

The Parnassius and Apollo Trekking Club can help you organize vacations in the northern Piedmont Region and Valle d'Aosta all year round.  During the spring months guests can enjoy nature walks and participate in painting or drawing courses.  During the winter months, our guides will join you for both alpine and cross country skiing.

But summer, which in the mountains begins in mid-July,  is the season for trekking because much of the snow pack has melted, the trails are open and the alpine valleys are accessible once again.

Organizing a trek

The Parnassius Apollo Trekking Club will organize every aspect of your trek so that it fits the abilities and expectations of every member of your group.

Please contact us at least 3 months in advance of your desired trekking date and let us know the following information:

• Number of people
• Level of fitness of each person
• Whether each person is an experienced trekker or not
• Whether you want an easy, medium or difficult trekking experience
• Whether you wish to trek The Gipaetus or The Ring
• Whether members of the group want single or double accommodation (there is an extra fee for single accommodation).
• Special menu requests
• Any other information about the people that will be helpful in our planning.
