General
With the appearance of a
Tyrolean chalet, a stay at
Casa Baita is to feel on top
of the world. Positioned at
980 metres above sea level
the view is enthralling. The
air is purified by the tall,
surrounding pines in a
protected area of natural
parkland on Mount Subasio.
Location
This house has been designed
for outdoor living - from
expansive terraces all
around the house, to tables
and umbrellas hidden amongst
the trees. An awning can be
opened over the front
terrace for shade. By the
stone built swimming pool is
an enclosed shower and the
pool depth is 1.7 metres
with no shallow end. There
is a large barbecue outdoors
and a waist high, bar- becue
fire indoors. It is natural
that close by there are a
few good restaurants- who
also take advantage of the
views, so there is no need
for visitors to wander too
far in the evenings. The
vistas when driving further
uphill over the mountain to
Assisi demand attention.
Spello is 8 kilometres
distant and boasts Roman
ruins from the time of
Augustus.
Layout
Entrance into a split level
sitting/dining room. The
kitchen/breakfast room has
cooker, oven and fridge. On
the first floor is a low
wall overlooking the dining
area. One double bedded room
having foot balcony, one
twin bedded room opening
onto a balcony, and between
them a shower room with WC
etc.
The cost of hiring a
cot is Euro 55 payable
locally.
