Located in Santa Maria degli Angelli, home of a basilica of the same name which was built around the Porziuncola, a small church built by Saint Francis for personal worship, the Villa Ponziano offers a quiet and elegant stay near one of Italy's most famous cities.
The Villa has three apartments, one one bedroom, another with two bedrooms and the other with three bedrooms. Each of the nicely furnished and well appointed apartments is fully self-catering. While there is no air-conditioning the building's thick walls and the Italian style shutters, keep the rooms cool in summer and warm in winter.
The Villa is close to the municipal bus loop by the train station so guests can quickly reach the center of Assisi and the famous basilicas built to the memory of Saint Francis. Trains to other Umbrian cities - Perugia, Spello, Spoleto and other Italian centers - come and go making the Villa Ponziano a convenient place to stay while exploring the area.
