The family run Hotel La Vela in lively and lovely Passignano sul Trasimeno is located in a quiet area of the town, close to the lake and the historical center of the town.Each of the 29 three-star rooms is fully air conditioned and has a fridge for you to store cold drinks and snacks to have in the comfort of your room. All rooms have a balcony from which you can drink deeply of the local scenery, and full en-suite bathroom facilities are available in each room. Each floor is accessible by lift/elevator and parking is provided for every guest.
The hotel's restaurant, Il Pesso di Giano, is in the annex, and is well known for its expertise with local fish - fresh from the lake! There is also a lounge and bar and a cafe where guests can relax with a drink at any time.
Passignano sul Trasimeno is on the northern shore of Lago Trasimeno and has retained its medieval walls and maze-like alleys, with houses which rise from the shores of the lake to towers further up the hillside.
Visitors can enjoy many historical sights including the thirteenth century church of St Vito and the Isola Maggiore, an island on the lake which is home to the twelfth century church of St Salvatore.
