| Description |
The Agriturismo Forte Sorgnano, a farm with farmhouses that date back to the 18th century, is perfectly situated on a hill just over 400 meters above sea level, in the center of Umbria, between Assisi and Perugia, with easy access to all the other major towns and cities of Umbria, and within easy driving distance of Tuscany.
Under the supervision of the farm's owner, the farmhouses have undergone complete restoration and renovation, preserving their original stone and beam characteristics, typical of Umbrian rural buildings.
Forte Sorgnano offers a quiet retreat in an uncontaminated, natural environment with extraordinary panoramic views over the Umbrian countryside. The rooms and apartments offer great comfort, and the grounds and surrounding area offer many recreational opportunities. Guests can swim in the farm's pool, or walk or hike the local nature trails. A variety of other activities - tennis, horseback riding, river rafting for instance - are available nearby.
FARM
Forte Sorgnano is a farm which extends for two hundred and eight hectares. One hundred and eighty hectares consist of wood inside of which you can find every species of trees; ilexes, chestnuts, firs. The remaining twenty eight hectares which encircle the farmhouse, contain a century hold olive grove to which have been added more than one thousand younger olives. These plants don’t know chemical fertilizer such as: plants protection products and herbicides. All the plants are well kept and pruned only by expert hands.
PRODUCTS
The owners produce a delicious extra virgin olive oil made from local olives with a dash of mulberry for added zest. You can purchase quantities of this wonderful oil at the farm, as well as a variety of other tasty Umbrian products: wine, grappa wine, vin santo, pasta, and truffles.
