The Agricola Montefili is a working farm located in the rolling hills of the Chianti Classico a short distance from Greve. The farm sits on a hill about 400 meters above Montefioralle, a splendid medieval village, and offers a magnificent 360 °view of the hills and valleys of Chianti. Even in the summer it stays cool, with a fresh breeze.
The property includes a cluster of four houses that once served as a stopping place on the ancient salt road (there's still a trace of the road in the path which goes by the pool) as well as approximately 10 hectares (20 acres) of land, including four hectares of vineyards, an olive grove, a stand of cypress trees, meadow and woods.
The 4 self-catering apartments have been completely refurbished with all the conveniences. They retain the ancient characteristics of the original buildings they are housed in and are tastefully and comfortably furnished.
The farm has a vineyard of about 4 hectares. The vines are registered for Chianti Classico and produce mainly San Giovese grapes along with small amounts of the Trebbiano and Canaiolo varieties. |
