The Hotel Annalena is a superior 3 star hotel, situated in a magnificent old classic Florentine style building on one of Florence's most central roads, the "Via Romana", that cuts right along side the famous and expansive Boboli Gardens.
This is a great hotel because there is true value for money, which so few hotels in Florence today offer. The location is superb, and visitors have the unique experience of viewing the secret "Annalena" gardens, which not even Florentines themselves are allowed to see. Unlike the rest of Florence where there is little greenery, the Hotel Annalena and its magnificent location is an oasis in the heart of the city.
There is a sense of authentic Florentine tradition and civility here, with ornate and antique furnishings in the main areas as well as the bedrooms. The rooms are clean, spacious, and bright.
Walking up the stairs to the second floor where the entrance to the hotel is, there is a distinctive and pervasive sense of history that this old 'palazzo' has seen over the centuries.
There are no elevators at this hotel, but the front desk staff are more than welcome to help you with your bags and for those who can handle a flight of stairs, this hotel is worth the effort as well as every penny.
Annalena is within a short 5 minute walk from the Medici's Pitti Palace and the Golden Bride "Ponte Vecchio". The major sites of Florence are all within a 15 minute walk from here. However, Annalena is also within a 5 minute walk to the famou Porta Romana, from which a beautiful walk along Via Michelangelo up to Piazza Michelangelo begins. We highly recommend this walk, for those who love nature, art and want a taste of real Florence. Most visitors don't get a chance to visit this part of Florence, but for those looking for a unique experience of Florence, the hotel Annalena offers a far superior experience of Florence.
A wonderful breakfast is included at the Hotel Annalena in the morning and can be arranged on your terrace in the morning for those with a garden view room.
