The Fattoria di Santa Lucia is a 160 Hectare wine estate offering splendid accommodation in the Valdarno near the area's capital, Pontedera.  The Valdarno - the valley of the Arno river which flows through nearby Florence, is characterized by vineyards, olive groves, large stretches of forest and verdant fields and is dotted with villas, Romanesque churches, castles, vineyards, olive groves and verdant fields.

The Fattoria itself has 26 hectare of cultivated vineyards, 3 hectare of olive groves, a large expanse of forest and a small lake in the valley floor, throughout which there are over 15 kilometers of foot paths for guests who want to "take a walk" or ride bikes, which are available at the farm.

The principal farm complex is called the Borgo alla  Cantina and here there are 3 farm buildings with even B&B rooms and also five self-catering apartments.  At about 700 meters distance, in an area called the Tagliate, there are two ancient towers which have been remodelled as self-catering "villas" and another five self-catering apartments.  Guests can avail themselves of the swimming pool, equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, and eat at the estate's country restaurant, which is open Wednesday's to Saturdays.  A wine tasting event occurs ever Tuesday during the season.
