The spirit of the Villa Casale Sodini, located near a small
village just outside Lucca is one of absolute simplicity. The villa is
an ancient mill house beside an evocative Tuscan stream. Guests will enjoy a
wonderful sense of serenity during their time at the Villa, but remain
within an easy drive of Lucca, Pisa, Montecatini, Pistoia, Florence and
other of Tuscany's major art cities. The coastal areas of Viareggion,
Forte Dei Marmi and Livorno are also close by.
Today the rooms of the old mill have become
intimate and luxurious living rooms, full of warmth and welcome: the old
stable on the ground floor is now the dining room where we can admire the
vaulted ceiling, the stonework and other traditional workmanship.
The large kitchen, the entry hall with its big
window onto the garden, bringing it inside, the study and a powder room
continue in the same rustic but elegant style. And how can we forget the two
stone fireplaces once so indispensable, which still revive warmth and
memories of family gatherings, old stories and friendly conversations.
On the upper floor of villa are five double
bedrooms, each with private bathroom. Three room face north with views to
the hills and the valley and two look southwards over the brook and the
garden. Of the five bedrooms, one is a large master suite with sitting room.
Furnishings have been carefully and patiently selected
during the work of restoration to provide the utmost in comfort and luxury,
with period furniture and splendid decorative objects. Nothing has been left
to chance. Bathrooms are luxurious, fittes with tubs and showers.
The spacious garden is filled with potted
lemons, olive trees, pines, camellias, wisteria, roses, lavender, rosemary
and fruit trees, all forming a splendid bachdrop to the swimming pool. Enjoy
conversations under the gazebo, relaxation by the pool or under the natural
pergola of the wisteria, or dining al fresco in the place of your choice.

year round.
