General
La Perciata is a country
estate centred around an
agriturismo and swimming
pool. On this estate, as a
separate enclosed entity, is
this detached single-floor
villa, on the one hand
completely private, on the
other benefiting from the
use of the estate’s
restaurant, tennis courts
and pool. Fifteen kilometres
away is the Ionian Sea and
Syracuse, ancient city that
once ruled the Mediterranean
and today still festooned
with Hellenic, early
Christian, Medieval,
Renaissance and Baroque
styles, sometimes all
residing in the same
building.
The same distance from Villa
Lilli is the town of
Cassibile, curiously the
scene of two major
surrenders: where
Demosthenes surrendered to
the Syracusans in 413 BC and
a touch more recently on 3rd
September 1943 where
Generals Bedell-Smith and
Castellano signed the
Armistice that took Italy
out of the Second World War.
Location
Set high on a terraced
hillside the house is
completely fenced in and
surrounded by olive and
fruit trees. The estate is
at the disposal of guests
hence horse-riding, tennis,
walks and the use of the
agriturismo’s excellent
outside restaurant (set
all-inclusive lunch approx
Euro 22 pp), breakfast room
(approx Euro 5 pp) and
shared swimming pool is
welcomed. The house has a
typically white stucco
facing and is located behind
a gateway and short drive.
Good parking. To the rear is
a bamboo-shaded al fresco
dining area with excellent
views, a barbecue and sink.
The house is air-conditioned
throughout and has insect
screens on the windows.
Layout
Main entrance into a
spacious sitting room with
open fireplace. Two steps up
into a kitchen/dining area
with outside door access.
Kitchen equipped with
fridge/freezer, double sink
unit, 4 gas rings and oven.
There is also use of a
washing machine outside the
house. Door from sitting
room to one good-sized twin
bedded room. One shower
room, WC etc. Steps up to
one double bedded room.
There is a final cleaning
charge of Euro 60 payable
locally.
The cost of a hiring a cot
is Euro 50 per week payable
locally.
Late arrivals after 20:00
will be charged at Euro 50.
