Next door to Villa Lilli,
but quite distinct and
fenced off from it, is this
colourfully rustic cottage.
Always forming part of the 4
star La Perciata country
estate and agriturismo,
Cottage Gerani’s shining
glory has to be its
magnificent covered terrace
- guests will not be
spending much time indoors
here - beamed, furnished,
with barbecue and with
elevated views through two
panoramic arches, it’s a
marvellous vantage point in
which to eat, drink and
relax. Once again the
estate’s high quality pool,
restaurant, tennis courts,
outside restaurant and
breakfast room are at the
disposal of guests just
150/200m short walk away.
Location
The ancient city of Syracuse
is 15 kilometres away and is
one of the most enjoyable
places in Sicily in which to
spend time. For two
millennia it has retained
the same general city plan
with the island of Ortygia,
still the heart and soul of
the city, centred around
Piazza Archimede, Syracuse’s
most famous son. Set above a
quiet secondary road the
cottage is immersed in
exotic colour mostly from
the vibrant red geraniums
from which it takes its
name. Entrance is through a
gate and up a series of
illuminated steps up to the
front door. No garden but
the estate’s open spaces are
available instead. The
surrounding hillsides are
terraced and filled with
olive and fruit trees. The
house has air-conditioning
in the two bedrooms.

Late arrivals after
