General
Casa Canova is a delightfully, romantic cottage in the grounds of the owners’ Villa and attached to the caretaker’s accommodation. It does however have privacy and has a lovely view overlooking the Borromean Islands lying in the centre of the lake. These are mini-paradises named after the chief patron of Lake Maggiore, Cardinal Carlo Borromeo.

Location
The furnishings are pretty and the sitting area has a large picture window overlooking the lake, as does the balcony to the double bedroom. The swimming pool is also to the front and is occasionally used by the owner. There is a pretty, private garden to the rear of the cottage. An open-plan staircase to the first floor has no railing so may be unsuitable for some, especially children. A 10-minute drive leads to the centre of Verbania town where all purchases are available. Stresa is the chief resort and the main setting off point for visiting the islands. Behind Stresa, a cable car ride away, rises the Monte Mottarone, a snow-capped peak offering stunning, panoramic views.

Layout
Attractive sitting/dining room with lake view and open fireplace. The kitchen has a cooker, oven, fridge and dishwasher. Shower room with WC etc. On the first floor, there is a single, divan bed on the landing. One twin/double bedded room having a terrace, lake view, and a good en suite bathroom with WC etc. There is a final cleaning charge of 110 Euros.
