Villa Louisa is a splendid villa with 300 square m living space and was built in the early 19th century. It has always belonged to the same Milanese family, who chose lake Como as their summer retreat to get away from the warm and humid town. At that time, families travelled by train or carriage to Como and then further up the lake by boat. That implies that villa Louisa was easier to reach by boat at that time.

The main road through the village Pognana is located some 100 m. higher than the water edge and in fact you have to go down partly by steep steps or partly by a cobbled footpath to the gate of the villa, however to avoid this when you arrive and leave with your luggage, we provide transport by our motorboat to and fro the nearby village jetty .

Villa Louisa has undergone many renovations but still has a very homely atmosphere and is furnished with both family antiques and modern pieces. The villa is situated directly on the lake side, to reach the main floor from the jetty, you have to face a flight of stairs .

A large living room, dining room and kitchen are opening up with French windows onto the front terrace, which is wonderful for outside dining and just sit and admire the lake, the sunset and and surroundings.

On the first floor is one double bedroom, with adjoining sitting room with fireplace and bathroom. On the second floor, there are two double bedrooms and bathroom. On the upper floor, an open space bedroom for 3 persons , one double bed 140 cm wide, and one single bed .

2 Sailing boats and 2 kayaks at free disposal to experienced guests.

Speedboat outings upon request.

The villa has large terraced gardens, a sunbath-terrace.
