sister apartment,
Apartment Alvise are
new luxury apartments on the
second floor (no elevator)
of a renovated building in
beautiful Varenna.
There are connecting doors
between the two apartments
so they can be rented
together or individually.
Apartment Varenessa is a studio
apartment with French doors
that open to a 180 degree
view of Lake Como. The
studio features a double
bed, fully equipped kitchen,
dining area - and a lounge
area with a sofa bed where
one or two others can sleep
comfortably. There is a
nicely trimmed
bathroom with shower.
Tile floors, wood
cabinetry, rugs, make this
property a stylish and
comfortable place for a
holiday.
There is a shared
swimming pool and
surrounding terraced garden
to enjoy, plus a garage and
parking space.
Note: There are two flights
of exterior stone steps
(with hand rails) from the
parking area to the
apartment.
The town of Varenna, which
has a train station and
ferry terminal, is only two
minutes down the hillside by
car. From Varenna, you can
explore the picturesque
towns along the lake as well
as skiing destinations such
as Valtellina, St. Moritz,
Livigno and Bormio which are
north of Sondrio or
alternatively, Chiavenna and
Madesimo (directly north
from the top of the lake).
Besides the scenic beauty,
there are historical and
cultural sites of interest
around Lake Como such as
Duomo in Como, Como’s Piazza
del Duomo and town hall,
Basilica of Sant’Abbondio,
Villa dell’Olmo, Villa
d’Este hotel in Cernobbio,
Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo,
and Villa Melzi in Bellagio.
Outdoor activities abound on
or around the lake (such as
bicycling, hiking, boating,
fishing, golf, tennis,
horseback riding, and
tennis) and there are many
places to rent equipment or
to take a tour via float
plane, helicopter, or boats.
