The Hotel Du Lac is a romantic villa covered
with flowers, right on the lakefront in the
medieval part of Varenna.
It was build in 1823 and trasformed into an
hotel in the middle of the twentieth century.
The renovation has conserved the old charm right
down to the details, the materials and colours.
It’s old name is “Casetta Teodolinda”, because
it is said that the Lombard Queen used to come
here to rest during the summer season.
The atmosphere of the hall takes you back to the
elegance of days gone by. Marble columns and
wrought iron balustrades, beauty is part of the
welcome, of this warm, gentle Hotel. The
terrace is immersed in flowers and the blues and
greens of the lake.
An ideal spot to sip cool drinks, or enjoy
exquisite sorbets, ice-creams or desserts.
The relaxing warmth of the fireplace, a
welcoming, intimate atmosphere, ideal for quiet
