General
Camogli is an attractive
little port-resort on
the edge of the unspoilt
Portofino promontory,
one of many that still
enjoys a stylish
reputation that matches
anything the French
Riviera can muster. For
we are in the Italian
Riviera – fashionable in
the extreme, charmingly
elegant and each town
set within bays of quite
stunning beauty. Divided
by a network of alleys,
steps and covered
passageways, these towns
are characterised by
high, pastel-washed,
six-storey houses,
clustered around a
colourful seafront of
bars, restaurants and
craft shops. Camogli is
no exception and our
central, fourth floor
apartment happily
perches in one of these
seafront houses.
Location
The view, from the
apartment’s three living
room windows, is one
that will stay in the
mind of guests forever -
to the left, the mistily
plunging headland of
Mount Portofino, to the
right, the Basilica of
Santa Maria Assunta,
tall and timeless, and
below front, the gently
arcing beach, umbrella
parades and limitless
blue sea of the Riviera
of the Levant. The
American owners
particularly recommend
that view at night when
twinkling lights and
warm breezes will tempt
guests to join the
habitual ’passeggiata’
or evening seafront
stroll. There is free
parking within
reasonable walking
distance and it is
recommended not to bring
a car into the centre.
The pay-beach is 20
meters away.
Layout
Steps down from the main
street lead to the house
entrance. Forty-three
fairly steep steps up to
the apartment’s fourth
floor front door. Large
airy sitting/dining room

TV and kitchen corner
equipped with electric
oven, dishwasher, microwave fridge/freezer,
4 gas ring hob and sink.

half-bath, WC etc.
Double bedded room with
en-suite shower room,
washing machine, WC etc.
