Manarola is one of the 5 villages in the now world famous Cinque Terre and the Hotel Marina Piccola, a cozy inn just above the harbor in Manarola is a favorite with many travelers to the area.
The hotel consists of two structures, the main building which also houses the hotel's glassed-in restaurant, and a tall house just across the street. Rooms in both buildings have wonderful views of the harbour and the Tyrrhenian Sea beyond, but the rooms in the main building are furnished in a much plainer style.
The rooms in both building are well-furnished, probably to a higher standard than many of the local hotels and B&Bs. The colour scheme of the rooms in the restaurant building consists of a pallet of whites and pale blues, while the rooms at the other are a more traditional country style - heavy wood furniture, flower-edged wall paper, scrolled headboards and other similar touches prevail. The rooms are air-conditioned and have TVs for those who want to catch a little Italian TV programming.
Book well ahead if you want to get one of the better rooms, particularly those in the restaurant building with the best views.
