The
Brancacci Chapel, Florence |
|
|
Inside the Church of Santa Maria del
Carmine, there is one of the most
important painting masterpieces of all
times: the frescoes of the Brancacci
Chapel executed by Masolino and Masaccio
and completed, after the death of the
latter, by Filippino Lippi.
The recent restoration has revived this
masterpiece.
Through the 12 scenes from the Original
Sin to the Life of San Peter the
paintings represent the history of
salvation and they reveal the
grandiosity of Masaccio and Masolino.
