The Relais Valguerriera is situated in the Candigliano Valley, half way between Gubbio in Italy and Fano on the Marche Region's Adriatic coast. It is one of the most beautiful and wild of the hinterland of the Marche, an area that has been moulded by the strong flow of the Candigliano river.
The Relais Valguerriera is housed in a nicely renovated sandstone palazzo dating to the first half of the 19th century. The Relais takes its name from an ancient bronze statue of a warrior woman found in the area - but now sitting in the Vatican Museum. There are also three other stone houses, once used by people who worked on the estate. Each building has a selection of self-catering apartments.
Each of the 11 self-catering apartments has an independent entrance. All are well-furnished and very comfortable. Each apartment also has access to a private terrace with a barbecue for al fresco meals. The apartments are equipped with full kitchens or kitchenettes. They are not airconditioned but remain cool in summer and there are heaters for cooler weather.
Many activities are available from the tranquillity and relax, which the guest generally expects at a relais, to sport, culture, and ‘more adventurous’ recreations.

Mountain bikers - inviting trails in the nearby hills and mountains. There are trails at every level of expertise from the least challenging to those for expert athletes. Moreover, it's possible to rent bicycles and organize excursions on basic paths just to relax. It is possible to organise special tours for Mountain Bike Associations (1/2 day or full day) with specialized guides of Bikers Italian Federation.

Trekking - The Relais is well situated on a major hiking trail - the "5 towns path” (more than 200 km of signalled paths). Information and maps of the paths on the surrounding mountains are available, while it is possible to organize walks with CAI guides on request.

Speleological excursions - Expert guides are available to take guests into the picturesque grottoes of this mountain with characteristic underground lakes.

Hang gliding - There is also the possibility to take part at beginners courses of hand-gliding in Monte Nerone.

Horse riding - In the surroundings is possible enjoy relaxing horse riding with guide or take part to basic courses.

Walking - It is possible to go for interesting walks also to look for mushrooms, truffles and wild berries.

Truffles - During the autumn season, we suggest you to discover the secrets of the mysterious world of the truffle in this well maintained truffle-ground; an experience in direct contact with nature in an area which many experts maintain is among the best in the world.

Folkloristic events are planned all over the year - From September to March, in the nearby towns of Acqualagna, Piobbico and Apecchio there are numerous, renown week-end festivals promoting truffles and mushrooms where guests can sample the products.

Fishing - in the limpid and invigorating water of "Candigliano" river.

Bird-watching - During their visit to "Valguerriera" the guests can enjoy bird-watching activity.

Ski - In the winter months, with the first snow falls in these typical Apennines zones, the guests can go cross-country skiing in the surroundings areas, while alpine skiers will enjoy downhill skiing on the runs of nearby Mt. Nerone.

Excursions - Thanks to its strategic position Relais Valguerriera remains central to places of great hystorical and cultural interest, so it is a good base for visiting centres of Renaissance like Urbino, Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia and many other places like San Leo, the Republic of San Marino, Gradara as well for discovering ruins and castles in the area (Piobbico, Apecchio, Sant’ Angelo in Vado, Urbania)
