| Description |
The rustic 57 hectare farm, “San Fele”, sits on
the slopes of Mt. Sellaro in the
National Park of Pollino, with a commanding
view of the Ionian Sea a short distance to the
south east and the Sila mountains to the south.
The farmhouse ("masseria") and the farm's stable and sheepfold, all
recently restored to preserve their original
rustic wood and stone qualities, sit against the
slope surrounded by age-old olive trees.
Guests are welcome to hike the old mule tracks that cross the pristine
area and to explore the caves, which were once
the hideaways of the brigands who used to roam
the territory. In summer, a hike up the
Raganello River bed, or a horseback ride in the
National Park of Pollino, or a visit to the
archaeological sites in Sibari are recommended.
The hosts offer traditional Calabrian foods, including olive oils,
cheeses, salamis, honey, figs and vegetables,
all produced without chemicals. |
