On one of the most enchanting stretches of the
Calabrian coast, the 5 star Hotel Porto Pirgos is a small and
unpretentiously peaceful hotel set by the sea
among lush eucalyptus, olive and bouganvillea.
The complex has been converted from an old
patrician residence and the décor is a blend of
the old and new - the 18 rooms are well
furnished with antiques alongside terracotta
works by local craftsmen. All have magnificently
styled marble bathrooms and a private terrace
each… A colonnaded terrace and mosaic floored
restaurant look out to sea.
The Hotel offers 18 double rooms, all with

Most of the hotel has been refurbished,
harmonising the antique terracotta-tile floor
with the wrought-iron details, and arranging the
antique and valuable furniture gathered from all
over the world with the local terracotta
articles.
In its complex original structure, a restored
old courtly residence, the hotel preserves its
Spanish-style traces characterised by the
precious mosaic floor that, today, adorns the
inside dining room, and the collonade of its
terraces which are open dining rooms with a
fantastic view of the sea, and which give to the
Hotel the romantic taste of the "relais".
Porto Pirgos Hotel is the ideal place for people
who love the sun and the sea. If you feel lazy
you can relax on the sunbeds around the large
and the scenic swimming-pool with jacuzzi
situated in the middle of a wide garden. If you
are fond of the seaside, you can go down the
private beach where parasols, deckchairs and
sunbeds are at your disposal together with
another swimming-pool and small bar. If you
prefer to go outside, a range of means can be
found: from engine-power boat to windsurf, from
canoes to pedalos and to the useful shuttle-bus
to get around the park.
